Hi. Happy New Year! I have to say that reading this firum brings a smile to my face and sets me dreaming of traveling north again. It a great
forum for those of us who are adventurous at heart.
You guys have all been so helpful to us in the past. So... I have another question.
My husband can sew shade sail and canvas
well and we have an old industrial machine. We want to make a tent top for our trailer and I wondered if anyone had done this themselves and had any advice. Also where would we purchase the frame that flips over or do people just get this made up to suit?
I know someone mentioned that they were making their own camper top a while back . However I cant find the thread.
We would appreciate any advise or tips before we begin. We have some idea of what we want and it apears to be simple, however like most things nothing is that simple!
Regards Lenni

G'Day Lenni,
Our local canvas man was asked to do the same thing.
His first answer was to just purchase one from a good supplier, as they were so difficult to get right the first time it would not be worth his while attempting it.
Cavalier and
Southern Cross in Victoria both have good quality kits.
You may find this much easier, (and cheaper), in the long run than trying to make something as a one-off
Hope this helps
Rolande
