We were at the Syd 4X4 show today checking amongst several things - Sliding Drawers. The good ones are good but bleeding expensive. So back to the drawing board. I have done the archival search and seen the chit chat. I would like to see something on the Red Desert system but can't find a Google search. Truckster you or have mentioned them, can you or someone give me a WWW lead or address/phone contact. Thanks guys 'n gals.

red desert were selling drawer systems (copies of outback interiours) for 330.00 to suit the 100 series tojo towards the end of last year. the finish was not as good as the above but value for money, excellent. bolted straight in without any problems. as far as i know all stock was sold. there has been the odd set advertised on e-bay as well as the trading post (melb) but for 900 odd dollars. some people purchased bulk lots to profit later.

Thanks kozy, yeah I saw that one of Truchsters mates grabbed a heap. As he (I think) has one installed they must be adaptable to a GU, I'll search the sources you mentioned and hope that my enquiry filters down the line to a willing seller.

Best thing i ever did was buy the $330 special, cant knock the quality as i think its the same as the others.
I first heard about it on this site and was one of the last to buy before they ran out.

Wish i had the money to invest in a couple more at the time !

I bought a set thru E-Bay about 3 weeks ago. $625 delivered to me from a guy in Melbourne. Fitted them to my 100 series last weekend. Awesome. Fitted perfectly and I do mean perfectly. Suggest you keep on checking e-bay, the guy I got mine from still had a few sets left. Unfortunately I have only just deleted his e-mail addy otherwise I could have passed it on. I will try to find it if you think it is worth it?

Thanks Kiwi Angler
I tried a search on eBay - no luck. I checked red desert and sliding draws. What search did you use or what were they listed under ?
Any assist is alway appreciated.

Cocka,

I bought a set of the $330 drawers and have done a couple of trips with them. They are very solid. I put mine in an 80 series so it needed slight trimming apart from that it took a few hours to install. If you can find them anywhere for even double the price they would still be excellent value.

I have the Address that they were sent from at red desert.

Sorry I dont have a phone number and am pretty sure they were sold out soon after I bought mine. Good luck.

Dude

they are long gone, and people are SCAMMING well on Ebay!!!!

They are going for upto $1200! ! ! ! ! They only sold for $330 delivered to your door. They were at Wandin Field day for $1000!!!!

Be careful though, some of the box sets were MISSING PARTS!!! and if you dont get them , then you have a useless system.

I agree with the prices of the other systems, $2000?? THey are on drugs!

Your best bet is to build your own. Search for Dave Hays plans on
making them.

Failing that, I know someone with ~100 sets of red desert draws they are planning on making a killing over the next 12-48 months!$750 a set I think...
