Hi all,
What have people been charged for 78 series 1HZ injectors?
As I am fitting an aftermarket turbo to my vehicle, do I need a higher pressure set of injectors?
I have been quoted over $800 labour incl. for them at the time of fitting the turbo.
I have never paid more than $52 (no labour to remove just exchange or rebuild) for a landcruiser injector with new nozzles and springs.
Maybe they are gold plated to give me better economy LOL.

Depends if they just need servicing or if they need new tips. Most require new tips and I was charged around $750 and that included replacing the seals in the top of the pump as well. This was a trade cost as well.
Hope this helps

As you say the normal cost of an injector rebuild is $52 which includes new tips and adjustment.
The extra cost maybe to adjust the fuel pump .
Basically the fuel has to be turned up to get the benefits of the the turbo.
This is done after fitting of the turbo.

Ive never heard of special injectors for aftermarket turbo installation.

Thanks guys,
The cost of adjusting the pump is incl with installing the turbo. The price of the injectors is their everyday price. Still seems a bit rich if they aren't upping the pressures or anything special.

Tour Boy, I just got quoted for a set of 6 (exchange): early 1hz = $450 & late 1hz = $720

So... may I ask where do you get injectors rebuilt for $52 ? I wouldnt mind a set for 52 bucks each...

Last time I had mine done with new tips it cost around $350 - $400. That was in 2002 though.
