Anyone got one of the TJM - ABS Canopies. It's a plastic shell type one with reinforced steel structure. Kind of a curved back style. How is it?

Any others got pros and cons with this canopy or type of canopy verses others.

Am thinking of buying one.

Thanks in advance

Not sure but I have heard (Rumour again !) that some suppliers latches are breaking and parts are not freely available. The one in question is on a new Hilux.

So check the latches before deciding. Some thing to do with the window between the cab and the canopy.

And to add to post.....
What canopy do you guys and gals think is the best in your opinion. And why?

The Carryboy is very nice though twice the price of the rest so it looks to be rooled out.

Cheers,

I have an Alpha canopy-Carryboy copy. Very good. Don't know cost as it came with the vehicle. Built in roof rack rated to 90kgs I think. Looks as though it is part of the vehicle. Had Flexiglass on previous ute. Roof racks were extra but better. As with most things its personal preference and intended use. Also with Carryboy/Alpha style canopy there is a possiblity of increased resale value or swap it onto new vehicle.

had one on a bravo dual cab

lost some luggage ( found again tho) out the back.....

the reason
When they cut the slide bars they were not long enough to allow for flexing and the top tail gate opened up.....

even after it was fixed I never did trust it so I always tied rope from rear roof rack to towbar

I have an ARB canopy on my dual cab Lux. No prbs with it, its 2 years old. I only wish I had ordered it with lift up windows both sides, I got it in the left side, not the right and should have done both, makes it much easier to get things.
