A while ago i posted about using CEM flushing additive for the first time. The result was great. Clean oil for 4 weeks (1000kms) after the oil change. The oil stayed cleaner lomger than ever before. I did the next change today ahead of a
Cape York trip soon and followed the instructions of adding 2.5 ml / litre of oil 30 min of driving before the oil change and got the same goods result.
If you also hate the new oil going BLACK as soon as you start the donk the try CEM.
I have no connection with the company but am happy to pass on good info to the
forum.

I think djpatrol is wanting to ask Ian a question about his fuel consumption not search the site for postings on ethanol!

No I have not had any noticable increase in power and the stuff is $99 for a 250 ml bottle.
That is enough for the initial treatment plus 5 treatments at oil change time then the next bottle gives 10 oil change time treatments.

CEM also claim it to make the engine run cooler ... have you noticed any difference?

It may
well make it run cooler but you can not tell because the thermostat will mask any change up or down.

It may mask a lower than 'normal' temp, but it won't mask the temperature rising above 'normal'.

If the viscous fan and thermostat can cope with a higher temperature then you won't know what is happening until it gets beyond control.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't oil also a coolant?

I have also used CEM with impressive results re cleaning. (it was about $90 and you get a couple of treatments for that - but it sure cleans)
I have changed to synthethis oil as
well (cruiser oil) and I am about to do trip up to the gulf so it will be a good
test.
I haven't noted any engine performance change but I was trying to clear sludge from engine as it is now close to 300k

I use
Shell diesel oil and enjoy seeing it stay clean for a while until it picks up the new soot in the motor. The CEM has cleaned out the residual soot from previously.
It sounds expensive but after the initial treatment it costs $9 per oil change or about $30 / year. Some of the forumites would spend that a week on smokes!!

i gave that habit up 2 and a bit years ago and it was costing 80bucks a week then at a packet a day.
hate to think what it costs now......but i am seriously tempted to give CEM a try. Can we get an Exploroz member discount? After this plug it should show the value of forums like this to business......
My poor old 293,000km truck is in need of some TLC, this might just be the ticket.....

yes Ian and you are''nt tossing filthy cig butts out everywhere when others take pride in keeping Aussie clean,or chucking the empty paackets out along the roads.Like, have'nt they got the brains to keep a shopping plastic bag in the rig to put litter in..On one of our
Cape York trips our leader would,nt let the convoy move out 'till the owner of a cig butt was identified and promised to quit littering...He did (had to or was sent
home..Part of the contract..) Loved that..It's our Australia..Let's all take pride in it..Leave it as you found it (or better)!MPG:7!
