Hi All,
I have found the websites for online permit applications, these however assume I know exactly what day I will be using these roads! Is there an agent/place I can go to around AliceSprings to obtain these permits?

Mav, are you talking about the
Sandy Blight Junction road ? Or permits for two different areas ?

I don't think you'll get a permit for the Sandy Blight road at the moment.
The permits can give you up to three weeks. Give the Central Land Council a bell and they'll set you right. However, if you're applying
well ahead of time be aware that it can take a while for them to process it, as they're pretty busy.

Footloose,
I intend to get from Alice to Kunna???
Well 33 CSR (don't have my maps to be more specific). I belive there are two ways to do this -
Gary Junction Rd from Alice, or Uluru - Docker river up to GJ rd (is this the SandyBlight
Junction rd?). I couldn't pin down when I would be there better than late July, so I was hoping I might be able to sort it out when I get there.............

Ahhh...you're going on "my" track :)
There are quite a few ways of getting there. Alice, Tanami. left onto
Kintore rd.
Alice, out through
Glen Helen and turn left onto the
Kintore rd.
Up through the Sandy Blight Road
Past Warberton and turn right to Gun, then up etc
I would get it sorted out
well before you leave, especially the permit. Please feel free to email me at jimshire1ATiprimusDOTcomDOTau if I can be of assistance. I should be on that track myself around early July.
