I have a 100 Series Landcruiser and I am looking at buying either Black Widow or Outback drawer system. Both have merits eg Black Widow has lift out side wings, Outback drawers has about 15% more capacity (calculated from the data sheets). Are there any owners out there who can provide some user opinions, or why they chose one over the other - acknowledging both are good (if expensive) products.

When you are paying a lot of money for a draw system, you want it to be your best value and product that you hard earned dollar is going to pay for. I looked at both type of draw systems and when you look into the fine details, to me there was only one system to go for and it was the BLACK WIDOW System. If you are a handy man, it was a very simple system to install myself. I throught that the draw system is far better on the Black Widow, as
well as the fridge slide. Go to a 4X4 store and compare the two side by side or if not, give Mark Oliver a call on 1800 634 614 and he will give you the complete run down on the draw systems. To me also another great thing with the Black Widow systems, is that if you upgrade your vehicle, they are able to supply the new side pannels without having to buy a complete new draw system.
Each person to themselves, but for me it is the Black Widow System

Stephen

Yes,
Another supporter for Black Widow.
I checked out all available brands/options and narrowed it down to two products that I could physically inspect at distributor outlets.
The Black Widow Drawer System IMHO won hands down and I now have a set installed in the Jack. A lifetime investment. When the time comes to replace the vehicle, the drawer system will be removed, a new base obtained to suit the new vehicle and the drawer system installed in it.
I know the "Outback" range is an advertiser on ExplorOz, but when you are outlaying a considerable investment, you want the best and to my mind, that was Black Widow.

G'day
I have the Outback system in my GU, including the
water tank, fridge slide, right side storage box and their cargo barrier. Excellent product.
I store all of my recovery gear in the draws plus some folding camping seats, tool rolls etc. No rattles and they have seen plenty of corrugations. Professionally installed by my favourite 4x4
shop.
Regards
Paul

I have outback ones in
mine too and cant fault them- No rattles, breakages, rips etc. easy to install too (only 4 bolts into factory holes).
If you are getting a cargo barrier, the full size drawers will not accommodate a full height cargo barrier. Either get a half height barrier, or let them know and they will supply a slightly shorter kit so it will all fit together behind the middle seats.
The outbacks have a drawer cover that is a fridge slide that I use with my 80L waeco, so that saved me a few hundred there too.
