the condition of Mudlo rocks changes day by day and tide by tide.
Call the RACQ at
Rainbow, they'll tell you (if they are not out rescuing someone who tried, and shouldn't have)

We were there over
Easter; and at low tide (full moon 0.40m) you still had to drive through a 100m stretch of water at a depth of 100 to 400mm with some rather large rocks thrown in.
Suprisingly this did not deter anyone as at one stage there were 2 lanes of 20 vehicles stuck in a traffic jam all in the water.
Ofcourse the best bit is to watch the clowns who proceed to drive through the water at 20 to 30 k's /hour! Oh
well I suppose they think that the salt water does wash the sand off???
The locals said that 4 vehicles had been lost in the week before
easter.
After seeing all this we took the Freshwater track to
Double Island Point only to encounter 2 Jap tourists driving a magna hire car on the track. They were looking for the
Lighthouse!!
Cheers

Interesting statistic...I was camping at
Harry's Hut around 3 months ago and met up with the park
ranger and asked about this section. He reckons that around 150 cars a year are lost on that corner. Apparently the danger is that erosion beneath the water and around the rocks cause vehicles to get stuck...then the tide finnishes them off.
