Bruce,
It was indeed "The Fire Engine". I kept it down a bit on the way
home as the motor is still running in, but kept it at about 85 to 90kmh all the way down the South West Highway, with the odd burst to 100kmh for a few seconds. Does about 2100 rpm at 100 kmh and overtakes in 5th gear without a problem. It just GOES!
Gearbox is a bit "sticky" but a bit of use will see that straightened out. I've given up on using 1st gear at all. The truck takes off in 2nd gear just fine -
well quite quick actually - and it's nice to just hang on to 2nd gear, without hammering the revs around the clock, and just listen to that Chev V8 do it it's thing. I left a few people behind without trying - I didn't mean to upset 'em. One Prado driver was a surprised though! Ya gotta remember - it ain't got no "Brunswick"stickers on it ;)
It's 3.00 am ( still not sleeping
well) and I'm gonna try sleeping gain. There'll be a full review in a day or so.
Stay tuned,
Bilbo
