Information for Touring Members
Roadworks will be commencing on the last remaining narrow sections of the
Barkly Highway between Mt Isa and
Camooweal, work will be starting about 2.5Klm East of
Inca Creek and various sections Westward to the the start of the already widened Highway , aprox' 39klm, quite a lot of the work will be new road thus leaving the old road open and clear until completion. / Travellers will more than likely come across oversized loads anywhere between Mt Isa and
Camooweal.and Machinery and Water Tankers working near the Highway.
Also there is Roadworks 2 klm North of
Cloncurry on the Burke Developmental Road at various locations through to Quamby

That original road was put down during WWII so it's taken a while so far!
