I ran them on my 3ltr td Hilux. They performed well on and off road. Only lasted 60,000kms. Letting go on road by then.

Why would you take a chance with them. Just fit BFG A/T's. People will have their own opinions but don't mess around with odd stuff. Tyres are too expensive.

We only got 30K on ours. Didn't grip that well either.

Moved to Coopers.

I've got a set on my HJ61. Front lasting really well, rears are wearing far too quickly for my liking - only done 30K on them, bitumen and dirt and I doubt I'll get to 40K with the rears.

Wear was not helped by the tyre supplier telling me to run 40psi in them, which I did. As the rears were wearing it was obvious they were overinflated as the centre was wearing more than the sides. I've gone down to the tyre placard recommendation of 30psi and will see how they go - ride is noticibly softer at the lower pressure.

Grip good, comfort and noise good, wear not so good. No blowouts, no significant damage from sharp stones - all for $159.

Quote: "all for $159."

Is that for 31x10.5/15's ?

Have they come down that much?

I have been running with cheapo ($140 ) chinese "Cheng Shin" and "Road Champs" for the last 2 out of 3 years.
90% on road driving (kind'a hard:), with some gravel work, no rocks...etc!

Min I got was 110K klms from these!

Now, with the useless Falken C/T's :( 60K klms is looking unlikely, and the worst grip of any tyre I have ever had :((
Pressure seems to make no difference, between 30-40PSI, I settled on 32PSI for comfort!

I may seek out these $159 scorpions......... the OLD FD44 215/80 16's I still have on my RR have been great!

cheers.

Yes it is.
Other than the wear on the rears, which may have been contributed to by too high pressure and the lack of rotation, I've been happy with them.

I got them at Bob Jane T mart and am pretty sure they were $159 on special. I've seen them recently for similar prices.

this was discussed at length if you care to use the search facility.
Think you'll find a few "firm" opinions there.

I have them on a pathfinder of th emissus, I wouldnt dare take them offroad! anything more than gravel at Coles and ya in bleep .

They would have to be the most pathetic attempt ever at an HT.

They are no way on earth an AT.

like that.

They are good on the wet blacktop though, truckie. So the missus shouldn't be doing doughnuts in the rain.

Luca,

Had them on my old 90 series Prado. I was really happy with them, performed great on bitumin wet (felt very secure) and dry, good off road. Mine lasted about 50k before I moved to Cooper AT. The Scorpions were better in the wet than the Coopers by a long shot.
