Goons
I am in the process of installing a redarc system in the patrol.
Where is the best place to mount the solenoid? Any advice or pictures appreciated.

Ditto,
mine is on the same plate facing forwards.
Ensure that the earth from your second battery is connected to the motor.
Mine was connected to the same plate that the majority of earth wires are using (and where the redarc is), and while in
Darwin earlier this year my battery was not charging properly.
An auto electrician up there changed the earth and all was sweet.
Geoff.

Sorry about the late response but I've been down at Margaret River (someone's gotta do it??) for the week.
The redarc in my 3.0 GU patrol is simply tech screwed into the firewall on the drivers side not far from the brake booster.
Be carfull, the metal is not as thick as it is on a toyota and too much force/speed will strip tha tech screw. (ahem, I have no idea how I know this)
Cheers,
Muzz
