Hi, I bought the oz tent tourer 9 plus, Got torrential rain first use . Got about 3 litres of water in the tent through the bottom of the door zipper. I had the awning up so if raining with the awning zipped in place,(it covers the entire door zip), would be fine.. I think i read recently the same thing happens with the more expensive Tanami tents as well. The floor is much thicker than expected but obviously not as good as a PVC floor, it is a woven Polypropylene. Canvas is good quality and waterproof, i cant find anthing i dont like about it. I made the fatal mistake previously of having those stupid Microfast tents, too much work to peg to groung and clip it all together for a one night stay. I'm happy and bought it on Ebay new delivered $320. Michael

No, only one night of rain, but the actual canvas did not leak, it simply ran through the teeth of the zip, and as i mentioed, can be covered up by the awning flap. I looked at the primus but the canvas looked and felt thin and soft. I wasn't sure about buying this low down in the price range,i have always bought in the upper price range, but the Freedom and Southern Cross were around $1300. Saved a grand... Michael

I also have the Southen Cross Ultimate trekker, and we had 2 days of straight bucketing down rain at Robe with lots o wind. After 2 days it was still dry inside, although it had sagged a bit at the front as we have the largest awning and it was filling up (didnt have it up properly). Once that was fixed, it was fine. Packing it can be a PITA

Or might just go the blue tarp thing that others do, might be easier

Truckster, Your tent should have rope loops on the top for extra ropes, Can you tie a tent pole across them horizontally and string the awning from that??

Will check it out, havent looked for that, but it does sorta come to mind. Probably the first time I havent taken photos of a tents first time out!

Well I bought one today looked at eBay bids were ridiculous bought one on line from Brisbane extended tourer 9 oz trail delivered with side pole kit for $330 2 years warranty.
Did you wet them in when you bought them I do on most new things or did you do any thing else before first camping trip.

Tony from above is where I bought it from I said $330 but forgot delivery in that price add $25 So thjat comes to $355 as said that included the side pole kit.
At grangers they are $349 till the end of december then go up to $379 that includes delivery on both prices but not the side pole kit.
