Were thinking of slipping up to inskip point for 2 nights later this week (thur/friday), I havnt been up there in 20years. But have camped last xmas at Teewah Beach - so no how crowded it can get - my question - is inskip the same this time of the year - or are they a little more spread out?

The idea of going camping and listening to the guy in the next camp site snore..... loses its appeal as i get older - and more sober?

Thoughts

My experience of the last 2 years is that you will be inundated with snorers.

Perhaps I'm one of them... my usual move is to go mid week and out of school holidays.

I know that this is not a lot of use to you now, but like you I have been out of that area for some 20 years myself and just could not believe how crowded it is these days.

Literally every man and his dog. (Inskip is one dog friendly place you see)

Cheers

From my experience you will be pushing to get a site at this time of year. The road to Inskip is now bitumen all the way and the campsites along the way are now fenced off.
I was up there about 3 weeks ago and Inskip was already pretty full.
If you do manage to get a site I wouldn't expect it to be too far from the next site
Good luck!

Ditto re the snorers.. Australia day, easter and Christmas /new year5s.. I wouldn[t go near the place.. in fact with so many soccer mums etc with 4wd's now, even normal weekends are getting pretty crowded up there.. I highly recommend making a change in scenery and going inland.. say Ammamoor State Forest. (just near Gympie) stay by the Ck (wil be a few others 'round but no where near Inkip Pt) also has showers (cold) and toilets and a stream runing by.. then you can make an 1-1.5 hr drive to the beach if you really want to wet a line. Spend the day on the beach and return to your bush camp site.. worked for us last Australia Day... .

Came back from Fraser on 23/12. The campers at Inskip Pt were so packed, there were tent pegs cm from the road. Not my idea of fun!

Thanks everyone for the replies!!

Kind'a gone off the whole idea, cant take people in my personal space!! We were traveling in a motor home once in W.A and pulled up on the side of the road for lunch - wehad a roll out awning which I wound out to shade the side of the van. An old couple pulled up and set up there table and chairs under it!!! Didnt even ask...the hide of some people

Might go up for a day trip and a counter lunch at the pub. Then venture back in Feb.....
