goodday all
a question
how do hot air balloons go on days of total fire ban .i was watching 3 yesterday morning wondering about the gas flame used as the operator starts using the gas before he gets airborne ????
you are not allowed to use oxy or grinders outside on a tfb so how do balloons get away with it or are they operating illegally

Years ago (like 20 or something) I used to live with a girl whose boyfriend set up the ballooning company out at
Condobolin. I can't remember the name.
I do remember though, a flight we had planned one weekend was cancelled due to a total fire ban. It may be different nowadays - but I can't see why.....

We were recently out at Ayres
Rock and contacted the fire brigade there to see if we could use our LPG stove to
cook on due to the TFB.
They said that LPG was fine to use.
Maybe the balloons come under these regulations.
Just a guess though.
120scruiser.
