We have got Mark ( my son ), a little box, and a remote control thingie, that plugs into his G4 iMac. It receives, and records free to air digital TV.

No big deal, I hear you say, that's what I thought as well, until tonight. I also downloaded a small utility that then converts the recorded program ( notice how I spelt it PROPERLY??? One M, and no bloody "e" on the end.... ) into a format that the new video iPod uses.

So, I can get him to record some Mythbusters, oh.... and Star Trek!, and put them on my iPod Video, and watch 'em in my swag, all cosy, without bright lights, batteries, etc., annoying other people.

How cool is that?

Don't even START, with the "... we go camping to get away from the...." Care factor zero!!!! You take ya books, and I'll take my iPod.

Cool, up to date Wolfie.

You are putting me on Wolfie?!

As does the Macquarie Concise and the Collins National.

Comes from the Greek. "Program" is a nasty American attempt to corrupt the Queens English. You'll be telling us the "color" of this thing next :)

Bugger!!!

I thought we WERE spelling it right!

I always thought the trendies were trying to sound uber cool, by trying to add extra stuff to the words.

I'll have trouble sleeping now, and my eating regime... (programme), well, we won't even go there... maybe a little excersize...:)

Hi JohnR..Seems you missed the most important word, just before "top folk": "Meet" Amazing the folk we have met this way.Yes,I have done some adventures with the same people we left home with..Nothing wrong with that.Part of the "pro" organised adventures advantage is we meet and adventure with folk we may never have crossed paths with."And what happens when you get annoying types on the several days/nites trips" Surprisingly,we have'nt had that problem, ever.Guess those types just stay at home and twiddle the TV remote buttons..Any trip that gets us out of prison (house) has got to be worth all the time, dollars and effort..The only thing I don't like about my iPod is it caused me to give away my two CD stackers whid each cost more than an iPod and held a lousy 6 or 10 CD's..My iPod has 2,700 songs and no CD's and is just over half full..Now I buy songs from Apple™ iTunes store & download..No annoying CD's to put away..Only get the good tunes..Have fun..RockyOne..

Lone Wolf,

I have to take my laptop when we go away over Christmas shortly for work and also bought a digital box as the caravan park has aerial sockets so the kids can watch the TV.

I like the idea of beign able to alter the format of recorded programs for ipod viewing, do you have the link to the website for that extra progam utility.

If it is already in the thread above i apologise i missed it.

Have a great christmas all.

Mark
