You mean in-between Billabong and Overlander?

Been past that way a few times but can’t for the life of me remember where that roadside camping ground is.

But it’s has to be within 50k’s of billabong otherwise you are at overlander.

Hi Johno. Wood it be the camping place at the Murchision river you are thinking
about. Thats on the west side heading north past the Kalbarri turnoff.
Have not been that way for awhile. When we stayed there were showers&
toilets. Hope it helps Brian

There are three "documented" campsites between Northampton and Billabong
Water Tanks
269500mE 6965600mN
Nerren Nerren
263650mE 6987900mN
Boundary Fence
265550mE 7005100mN
Datum GDA94 - Zone 50

My database shows no campsites between Billabong and Ovelander and I am willing to state that no "significant" site (ie with toilets) exists since it would be less than 25km to a road house...but I could be wrong (I think I was once..though maybe Im mistaken)

Cheers

hi again after reading explorers reply it rang a bell. its Galena bridge rest area.
When I stopped there years ago he was just getting going. I think travellers
still preferred to free camp on the right or east side heading north. From memory
it was only a couple of dollars to use the showers and toilets.

The Outlaws,

The Galena Bridge is to the east side of the highway [right side travelling up the coast] but sounds like the one your on about. Having said that there is another one to the west side and within about 50-80 K's of Galena. Then there is one on the right side between the Overlander and Carnarvon that has recently had toilets put in. All the ones I speak of have those composting dunnies and they are surprisingly clean and non smelling. Mind you, I was there in September and October so it wasn't that hot.

If you have Oziexplorer I can send you waypoints for all three spots.

Regards

Moneypit

G'day Sparra....You gave me some info about Cararang Station a few months ago. I've just tried calling to book for the break but no one is home...proberly left it to late! If I was to come up over the break, what are the chances of finding somewhere to camp/fish?

Any help much appreciated

Marlon.

Hi every one

If its the one with a solar panel controlled light on a pole, its about 200 kms north of Geraldton on the left off the Hwy - we frequently stop there - being off the hwy keeps you away from the truck noise etc, it also has a dunny - the long drop type.

cheers

it does have a solar panel light your right.

so if its 200 klms north that would almost be at the billabong.

sum-- geraldton to northampton = 50 klm
northampton to billabong = 150 klm

is this right ?

Hi Outlaws

Its south of the Billabong and on the west of the hwy. About 200 kms - not exactly sure. It is hard to miss because its well sign posted.
