A few people have asked to see how I've set up my gauges in the GU. Now that I'm a bloody expert in photobucketofchit (hahahaha), I'll give it a go:
Fingers crossed:

Just don't ever look at the wiring and ask me "what does THAT wire do?"

G'day mate,

I would say you win.
I thought my dashpod was cluttered........ until I saw these photo's.
As I said once before you want to apply for NASA's R & D team for the next design of the space shuttle, your experience with gauges probably is more extensive than those that allready work there.
I would be too short to see over the top of that cluster of VDO gauges, but I do want them just the same hahaha.

Cheers Trevor.

G'day mate,
Yeh they do take up a bit of space and I find that if I'm driving through any gnarly country in 1st Low, I have to sit up a bit so I can get the best possible view of the track.
The photos are Pulitzer Award quality, but you might be able to pick out the EGT digital readout on the steering column. It has a small yellow toggle switch on top which enables me to flick between upper and lower thermocouples on the turbo.
The same idea exists on the Voltmeter (partially hidden behind the GPS) which has a toggle switch for checking either of the 2 batteries.
The 4 VDOs on the dash are (from L to R); oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, boost pressure. The air gauge lives on the A pillar and the LowWater Engine Saver alarm's huge LED is mounted on top of the A pillar. The alarm module itself is attached by 2 cable ties to the T piece just below the air gauge.
Cheers
Roachie

Roachie If you don't mind me asking, what was involved with the setting up of the EGT and what did it cost and was it a bugger to install yourself or did you get someone to do it??
I understand that it came from Ian at Thermogaurd, correct me if I am wrong, so I could easily find his details as I have been thinking about putting this gauge on as a priority.
Thanks Trevor.

Trevor,
I did it all by my self!!!! Except that when I first installed it I didn't have a bung in the exhaust dump pipe into which I could screw the thermocouple, so I decided (on Ian's advice) that seeing as how I'd have to get a suitable thread put somewhere, it may as well be in the manifold. I did not feel confident about doing that part myself, so I got a local mechanic to unbolt the turbo and tap the hole in the manifold (it had to be unbolted so that any swarf could be prevented from dropping into the turbo).
However, your new 3" exhaust system should have a readily accessible bung that can be removed and the thermocouple simply screwed into it.
The wiring is school-boy stuff.
Cheers
Roachie

Yeh sorry mate....I didn't know you're not allowed to delete them off photobucket once they're loaded onto EO. So, I deleted them and also off my camera etc, so I've had to go and do it all again. See my other post "Take 2"

Who was it that recently posted about fitting the pillar pod with three guages? I can't find the thread now. I wouldn't be able to see over the dash either with one like Roachie's - then again, i suppose i would be so busy monitoring all the guages that i wouldn't have time to look at the road anyway lol.

Motherhen,
HERE is the finished product. All the gauges are hooked up and working well. So far maximum boost is 18psi and pyro temp is 450deg C. I put the probe about 50mm past the exhaust turbine wheel.
