So what engine gearbox and transfer case did you use?
Also what adapter kit did you use

List a few prices too.

Also on the V8 adapters, you buy them direct from Marks in Melb, and as for engines, you can buy a 1/2 cut VN or later SS for $2200 complete. even if freight was $1000 to get it there, it would have been cheaper.

Truckster,

Only prob is the T700/4L60E needs quite a bit of work to be strong enough (long term) for the conversion (1400kg Commo vs 2400kg GQ on a good day...). Advance Automatics in Bayswater (out the back of Cheezys) actually ran through the list with me of what they replace before they will even think about putting on a Marks Adapter, quite a substantial list. It's added a bit to my build cost budget for DAMKIA, but at least I won't be fronting up to them with a cactus auto needing a rebuild.

Also have to factor into the cost things like the body control module, looms, etc, to make it all work, and a buggery box to convert the speedo so it is halfway accurate.

If it still lacks a bit of low down grunt there is the option of a Chevy 4.3 stroker kit ....

the motor was a vr series to wit h gear box bought whole car with 70000 k on clock
1400 from auction wiring it in and converting aircon was bit more than I thought 550 forthat labour to fit was 1100 which incli\uded custom engine mounts as marks dont make them the conversion kit was 1000 and just over 1000 for all other things like trans cooler fuel pumps modiftying aircleaner to suit snorkel andall that soughtof stuff spedo is acurate id you take off thewheel size and fuel is around 10 litres per hundred on my daily journeys compared to 17 18 withthe rb 30, wiring is all hid this looks very professional in the fit all I haveto do is put on a bigger exhaustand maybe extracters. auto wentin ti get input shafts and seals and clutches all included in the price as well. sump was modified , a lot of out of sight stuff I guess like twin thermos fitted off ef falcon and radiator hose mount adjusted to right angle. stuff I guess you dont hink of.
