Does any one have any knowledge of the new diesel Pathfinder.

Do not see any on the road, but had a test drive of one, and it certainly has more power and torque over our present Prado.

Fuel economy appears to be much better, and the top of the range diesel, is better spec'd than the GXL Prado.

Thanks Guys

Col,
Don't have any firsthand experience at the moment but we are considering downsizing to one in 2007. My main concern is the small fuel tank (75 L, I think). I hope there is a long range replacement by then.
Regards from sunny Yeppoon where, despite the media attention of late, Xmas is alive and well.

Col,

There is an ever increasing number of new model Pathy owners sharing their experiences / vehicle info on the Pathfinders' Club of Australia Inc. Forum. Might be worthwhile checking out a few of the threads there:

One thing to watch out for on the new diesel pathfinder is the front bash plate under the sump is supported on its front by two bolts attached to plastic lugs which are part of the radiator. I've already seen one vehicle where the lugs have been torn out of the radiator after the bash plate has been hit, resulting in a cooked engine. Just something to be aware of on an otherwise good car.
