When you say "outback" I take it you're not talking about the Jayco variety ???

Can only speak for
Tambo... Had ours a little over a year and I can't praise the product or customer service enough. The only drawback at the moment appears to be the waiting list. Got the opportunity to have a look at a brand newy a couple of weeks back and I'm happy to say(in my opinion at least), quality appears to have been maintained given how busy they have become.

Both very good, you can get a
Tambo if you wait 12 months.
Canvas on Outback of a high quality and their trailers look quite good also,
Hope this helps

Tambo are an ExplorOz Sponsors business and we have never heard anything negative about them at all. In fact it is usually praise
feedback that we receive. Also they offer a really good members reward if you order a camper from them, we have heard of a few people joining ExplorOz and using this reward. Good luck in your evaluation process, I am sure you will get the
feedback from our
forum users.

Hi Kimtone,
In my research to purchase my first camper trailer, I looked at
Dingo, Outback and
Tambo. After cheching all the figures, build quality and features, I happily settled on the
Tambo. The build quality is fantastic, as are the features. The after sales customer service from Keith and Amanda is second to none. I have taken my
Tambo to many
places from on road
camp sites, to the Gulf of Carpentaria,
Birdsville Track,
Innamincka etc. It handled beatifully and I had no issues worthy of noting. Next year I will be giving it a real
test when I head west and take the
Tambo on the Tanami,
Gibb River Road,
Kalumburu Rd,
Cape Leveque,
Steep Point and Anne Beadell Track. I have all the confidence in the world that it will do the job. The waiting time may be long for the
Tambo, but it is
well worth the wait.
Cheers
Glenn

Glenn, came across your reply. I pick up my
Tambo Cooper on 22/1/06 (had the good fortuner to fit into a slot vacated by someone else so only an 8 week wait instead of 8 months). Having done a similar trip to you with a hired trailer back in July this year (
Tibooburra,
Corner Country,
Bore Track,
Innamincka, Cordillo, B'ville,
Boulia, Alice and the centre) I am heading west in '06 on what sounds remarkably like a mirror trip to yourself. Hoping to depart in March and reach
Darwin before the wet. Would love to have a chat with you about the camper and your preparations for the trip. I'm currently researching
inverters, generators etc with the intention of preping the trailer to meet power needs etc. Hope you could contact me on my bigpond email. Look forward to hearing from you. Mick.

I too own a new
Tambo about six months old and believe that you can't get a better product for the money, I live in WA and even with the freight it was still far better value for money than anything I could buy over here and the people there are can't do enough for you. Spoke to them a couple of weeks ago and they said current wait time is just under six months.
regards
Dale

Been following the plight of the "Tambo" for a while now.
Cant say I have ever heard a bad word spoken.
Seems to be a really good product at a good price.
Construction time IS scary though . . . 6months plus , for a budget CT ?
Anyway , seems that they have kept their quality up which could have been a concern in an effort to keep all the sales.

I love my
Tambo so far, and because of it, I get to
camp with the Missus a bit now. I was lucky to get one within 6 weeks from ordering, and as everyone else has said, the after sales service is great, and the Camper is Truly a
well built unit, and excellent Value for Money.
Good onya Keith and Amanda, keep up the great work.
