I'm looking to team up/tag along the
Gunbarrel Highway in April 2003, approximate departure date 11 April from
Yulara. Relatives with whom we (wife and I) were to have done this once-in-a-lifetime trip have had to drop out and, as a visitor, I would much rather be travelling with one or more other vehicles.
Would be glad to hear from anyone who might be contemplating the Gunbarrel,
Yulara to
Carnegie, leaving about 11 April or for any advice about how I might contact anyone who may be planning such a trip.
Paul.

Thanks Ash. I've received conflicting advice on how necessary it is to travel with others on the Gunbarrel. Some are adamant that the route should not be attempted alone. Others, like you say, feel that provided we are properly prepared, it is fine to go as a single vehicle.
As I am a visitor to Australia, I would feel more comfortable to be travelling with others if possible
With best wishes, Paul.
