Hi,
Just wondering if anyone signup with 3 recently.
Do you have any problem with them?
My phone already not working first day when i got it last week. It is a Motorola V975.
Bloody Hell!
Everytime I call them, they transfer me to call center in India. Everytime I have to tell them a wholebleeping story. They don't have office in Australia!

Dont know if this is related? But our business acquired two LG Phones on 3. Had lots of trouble with the calls dropping out constantly. The phones also broke down and had to be repaired. The last time they broke down we demanded new phones. They did replace them with Sony Erricson 800i (think?) but strangely they also changed our sim cards to ones with the 3 logo which is red. Since then we have not had a problem. To the point where we are now considering a couple of extra phones from them. The old sim cards I think had a green 3 logo on them and had problems with roaming and moving from one cell to another.
I am not using any of these phones myself, but the staff using them are now very happy.
Hope this helps

Tony

3 serivice is only in Major city metro , after that it roams in 2 not 3 which was Vodaphone. Now that the deal has finnished , they have done a deal with Telstra , this is why they sent you a new sim card . Now every time you leave 3 zone , you go to Telstar at the same rate.

Got to admit there handsets are pretty doggy , I had struggled with my LG , currently looking at a updrage hand set.

I still have my main number everyone contacts me on with Testra direct , but my 3 is to make calls only , this way I have a back up phone at all times , and 2 handset 4 lines at one time .

Go Telstra!! any time you use companys that are only interested in concentrating services where the most profit is (ie sydney Melbourne) then to compete Telstra has less money into providing a SERVICE. This 3 mob do they provide cdma towers for farmers? do they provide a payphone on the Canning?(or anywhere else for that matter) do they provide sat phone services at local rates for station Owners? No No and No If your phone doesnt work who comes and fixes the lines 3 no it is Telstra, Support the company that provides the service not just were it is profatable but everywhere.
Virgin is another prime example they were skimming the cream on all the profitable eastern states routes but not providing a total service as a result to compete quantas had to Cut SERVICES (that word again) and as a result the only place you can now fly from Kalgoorlie is Perth. Virgin tried to Muscle in and then a few days before their 1st plane was due to land they cancelled the entire thing because they had only sold 75% of tickets ON THEIR FIRST ATTEMPTleaving people scrambling for tickets sold by the (service provider) Quantas.
Sorry for the rant but people should realise when they use jonny come lately componies that dont provide a total service and are only interested in Max profits then it is people in the bush that miss out. Big companies like those mentioned are far from perfect but the alternative is far worse

i3web

where are you and how did you buy your phone?

What do you mean it dosnt work? does it have power?does find the network? or your calls just keep droppping out?

I'm up in brisbane and and a real estate agent, before that I was doing line haul from Brissie to Melbourne. Ive been with 3 for a long time after getting sick of the crap from telstra an optus. Optus Ive had 2 phones that allways droppd out and te message bank kept failing. Telstra allways over charged me. The over chargeing got really bad and over 20 dollars a bill.

With trepidation I went to three to see what they could offer and with line haul I could talk to my wife with a video call for the sme price as a normal call.
Three has been one of the few companies thats listen to me as a comsumer and help me as my carieer has changed free of charge.

I must admit when they roamed on the vodaphone network I did experance dropouts but If I called back in under 30 secs they did not charge for the connection rate.

Now they are the telstra network I'm have a lot of problems with my mesages being delievered late. It can take up to 24 hours for a message to get to me. Thanks telstra.

At the moment I'm under the old 49 dollar cap rate with a sony erricson z1010.
the phone is fantasic. I'd never go back to the nokia range again. I carry over 500 contacts at any one time and up to 300 appointments as well. the phone syncs with outlook very well via blue tooth or Irda.

I've just got the high speed modem up and running and I'll let you now the costs on that. the speed from the high speed modem is faster that 1 meg adsl. three charges me $29 cap up to $100 dollars for the high speed modem at $100 a gig. the minum spend is $5 a month.

It looks like the only thing the phone cannot do is fax. thats a bit of a problem and I'm working on that.

As for the indian call centres ....Get used to it. It is what india does best. All I can say is the maxium I've ever spent holding on line is 5 minutes. the people are polite they know the products and allways very helpfull. As I've said before I wanted a product that they didn't have, they talked to a superviser and after 10 minutes made a product just for me out of 3 different plans and charged the same amount. Now you think optus or telstra will do that after sitting on hold for 2 hours.

i3web the v975 is a good and motorrola has the best computer linking software bar none. The E1000 is better if you can upgrade to the E1000. the SE z1010 is very good but let down by computer linking software and a low res vga camera the upgrade Z800 is the best phone around at the moment. the SE also has the best speakers as well for my ring tone Ive got the rollinstones "give me shelter" at full bore.......

If your phone isnt working take it back for an xchange phone as simple as that.
