We are about to set off on our first big trip . Not sure if we should buy an epirb or hire one. Will be away 3 months and doing a bit of prospecting.
Does anyone know the cost of hiring and who hires them out. we Live in WA.

barbie,
You are probably better to buy one, They are not that expensive.
Look in ebay.

Barbie,
An Ebay seller has them for hire for $40 a week, but I'm only going for a month of travelling and will be picking up a MT310 handheld for less than $250 in
Perth at a marine seller - Whitworths. Seems much better than hiring to me.

OzRoamer Camper Trailers hire out EPIRB units for $40 per week or $120 per month.
www.ozroamer.com.au or 0414-522-295
With the system changing in a few years it may be a waste of funds to buy a unit for the odd trip or 2

Hi Barbie,
I have an EPIRB for sale on E-bay, currently $162.50. Almost new.
Might be just the one for you.
Regards,
Laurie.
