Are the 8525B frequencies set by crystal or are they user programmable??
Geoff.

Hello - they are "synthetic" ie no crystals. But it is no easy task to change them unless you have correct equipment/knowlegde. I would suggest the easiest way would be to send it to a person qualified to dabble with such devices. Had my 9323 changed for $45.
Cheers
Greg

Thanks Greg,
Take on what you are saying. At the moment I just needed to know which way the unit was configured.
Thanks,
Geoff.

Geoff M,
No expert but a friend of
mine is a radio tech with QLD Rail. He is installing an 8525b in our troopy soon. To get all the frequencies we wanted he has to install an E-Prom. The E-Prom is apparently about $60 to buy plus installation.

Geoff, the frequencies and options are "burnt" into an eprom using special Codan software. Have a peek at http://
