Going to
Darwin in July/August from
Sydney. Due to Annual Leave restrictions we don't have the time to drive back to
Sydney. I have had some quotes from vehicle carriers to get the vehicle back to
sydney but only a couple will take personal contents but nobody will insure the goods. Has anyone used anything similar and have
feedback because I don't particularly want to get it back with the fridge etc... missing.

Can't help re the core request but I am interested in the level of those quotes ... far as I remember, most carriers want plenty of $ to move cars city to city.

Yup noone does it. I tried the likes of TNT and nieche players like the guys that freight race cars and no go.
Tried every man and his dog and the two excuses were always:
1. It adds weight which they cant cater for chargin extra for so they dont allow it.
2. Their insurance wont cover it.

Greetings
The way to go may be a vehicle relocation company. Your vehicle is driven by a driver from A to B. I work for one. Drop me some private email and I will give you a reference to contact and get a quote.
The company carries insurance and I am sure your insurance company would cover another driver if notified.
Regards
Paul

I use Autotrans Express and have given them the car chockers. No problems.
Broome to
Canberra once, Alice to
Canberra twice.

bigmal,
I don't know what vehicle you have but why don't you change the lock on the back door, and with your gear between the cargo barrier and the locked back, and the key in your pocket, there is no entry to your stuff. Key you give them covers passenger doors and ignition.

thanks for all the
feedback. Done a bit of ringing around some of the companies that will do the job. Subaru Forester is about a $1000 and a Prado is about $1500. Only one or two will take personal belongings but take no responsibility for them. So it looks like we are getting as far as Alice this time around and driving back.
thanks for the suggestions
