We will also be doing in the Canning in July / August next year and would like to hear from anyone who has done it, we have brought many books on the subject and doing heaps of research, but what we would like to find out is about fuel consumption e.g. how much is needed, best
places to get it, and how much you have used, so we can do calculating of our own.
Many thanks Amanda

Hard to say how much fuel usage you will be likely to do because there are so many side trips that are possible to do. You really need to decide on the exact route and add up all your side trips to work out your likely km's for the two halves of the CSR. When you know the likely km's, you can work out your amount of fuel required by calculating your km's/litre in sand conditions. Most Cruisers and Patrols (diesel) will be somewhere in the vacinity of between 6 and 7 km's per litre.
Capricorn roadhouse will drop fuel for you at
Well 23 fuel dump. Also diesel is available at the store near
Well 33. They are no longer stocking unleaded petrol. Suggest you get a copy of "The Canning Stock Route" by Ronele and Eric Gard. A comprehensive travel guide that is
well worth the price.
Cheers.
