I am heading back to the red center in july 2003 after some 10 yrs from my last visit , and are seeking information from my traveling friends on the expected weather for the finders ranges region for this time of year, as we will be travelling from
perth we will be in a winter rain pattern and i can assume that some rain could be expected, or is it further north enough to be ok and be like our sunny north?
Many thanks
Darryl

Looking at the map of Australia,
Perth in WA and
Hawker (
Flinders Ranges) are approximately on the same latitude. So the Northern
Flinders Ranges are not that much further north than
Perth. You will however find a marked difference in temperatures. June/July/August are the coldest months here in South Oz with temps going down to minus 5 and beyond. You could expect some rain. Late August and September are the months more prone to rain here in the Temperate Zone. Happy travelling. Cheers, Willie
