Does anyone know of a place to balance 44" tyres . Years ago we use to be able to balance wheels on a car . Most
places I walk into and ask if they have a on car balancer , walk away and think i am nuts lol . ( probably a little right )
I have tried a few local truck
places with no luck.
Cheers all

Whoa...... 44 inch tyres......
You've outdone yourself now Eric.
According to my calculations, they should not ever need balancing, because, even traveling at 110 km/h, they are probably only rotating about 6 revolutions / minute!!!
44" tyres........... wow.........

LMAO Wolfie.....
You're right though....they are phriggin HUGE donuts.
I would have thought that the place/s that sell these tyres should be able to either (a) do the wheel balance for you or (b) point you in the right direction to a place that can do it.
Good luck Eric.....

How about a truck wheel alignment

What's a 44in tyre in comparison to a semi-trailer tyre?

Twice the size !! generally most trailers are 22.5 inches..and older ones are 20 inches...Unimogs run 20 rims !! so imagine a 44 inch one ...the mind boggles !! SIZE does matter !! especially if u want them balanced on the 'rig'...

Steve,
I imagine Eric is talking overall tyre diameter not rim diameter.
So if a semi runs 22.5in rims what is their overall tyre diameter?

Most 44inch tires wont balance up without massive weights. You are talking swampers or boggers or similar or maybe the Trxus??
Since most trucks with 44's only ever run up to about 40kph, and are crawling etc, theres hardly any need to balance them.
Pro-Comp in Narre probably can do it, but I remember the GU with 44's they had didnt bother.
