We have just renewed our rego on the campertrailer and it has gone from $48 to $138 instead of being registered on how many axles and what type of trailer it was (ie)box which was what ours was regoed as, it is done on weight now, bugger!!!
I was wondering what the other states were like we've had it pretty good here until now, all good things must come to an end when the government is involved.

hey jackablue, ours is 1500kg GVM and needs an inspection, if it's braked it has a GVM of 1500kg, unbraked 750kg no inspection, still classed as homemade box type though.
Hey undertaker hows the beast going good i hope still seaching for a new 4b or have you got it.

I think my CT is similar down here in the ACT.
My box trailer costs $52 per year , and my CT costs just over $100.

Even pensioner concessions are up in Vic but still way below some other states.
Why do they need so much more of our $$$$.
How can I make/buy a trailer which can be used as a camper, eg box trailer with
say detachable/folding top??
Is this now possible? If not have to ditch some gear so the ute can carry the lot.
I hate being pushed around for no good reason.

Hi here in WA I pay $36.75 for a 6x4 box trailer and $75.05 for a 17' 6" caravan. Both costs include third party insurance and the dreaded GST. I can't claim pensioner's discount as I am only alowed discount on one vehicle and that is on my L'cruiser which is $409.70 (PD)

Havent yet bought the much awaited for camper trailer yet, hope to in the next month or two.
I'm in the ACT and while I realise theres nothing I'm gunna be able to do about it, can anyone explain to me why you have to pay additional registration for a "tent" which once removed from the box trailer is all your left with when you remove the canvas unit from what is ultimately a "box Trailer". Is it just me who thinks this stinks. And what if you have the rego inspection done and register the trailer before you add the "tent" unit.

I believe its done on weight here in the ACT.
Rego the trailer without the tent section "should" work.
