Hi Gang. I've registered as a visitor, and tried to reply to a post from Gossy about this, but couldn't seem to find a 'Post' button. Also couldn't find Gossy in the members section. So hope you don't mind, I've started a new thread.

Gossy said about about not hearing any traffic: "I have the Motorola CB Pro which is in the 476.425 to 477.400MHZ range. ... It has a power output of 4 Watts so this should have not been an issue. The external antenna they sold me works fine they say as they have sold this one to many buyers of this radio."

I've looked at these handheld radios and I see two problems:

1. There appears to be no external power connector except for pins on the base to contact the base charger, which contains the charge regulation circuitry. So how do any CB Pro owners in this club keep their radio charged while on the road?

2. The antenna connector has only one connection -no earth. So how does an external aerial work effectively on these sets? (Need an earth for the coaxial cable sheath/outer.)

Otherwise they look like good handheld CBs.
