Today I had to use a Highlift jack on my GU for the first time. On my old Patrol, I had an Opposite Lock Alloy bar, which I was able to jack off. I presumed the TJM All Steel bar would be solid enough to jack off. I jacked off the slots at the front of the bar and I was surprised, and not happy.

After lifting the front of the vehicle up to change a tyre, I noticed I had bent the Bar at the front slot I had used as a lifting point. Whilst it is not too bad, clearly the bar is not heavy enough to jack on.

Maybe I should have bought the ARB bar. The bar I have is a TJM Steel Winch Bar - Air bag compliant.

How the hell do are you supposed to use a highlift jack on the front of the vehicle ?

I have hit a full on goat with mine bent it slightly but it did do a good job. The welding on top of the bar also needs close inspection as they crack, also mine rusted after 3 months but it would of been under waranty but couldent be stuffed hassiling them plus the distance to the shop
