Hello Explorers,

I am looking for the best camping sites/suggestions in Litchfield NP away from the main flow of coaches etc. Has anyone been to Buleys recently? We're camping 4 or 5 nts.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Andy

Buley is IMO the best swimming of the lot. It is poplular but so the the whole of lithchfield becuause at this stage there is no entrance fee.

The campground is not real flash but if you dont get in before mid afternoon or earlier you might not get a spot

I agree re swimming at buleys, being best spot, and jumping out of the tree on the top water hole has been a great past time when we have been there.

But if you travel past buley around the loop, there are some great camp spots along this road, near creeks, on the section of road no one seems to use.

A couple of months ago we camped at Florence Falls. (Was very nice) We couldn't get into Buley. However, we did drive in there on a long weekend, so it was pretty busy. Buley camp ground is good as it is only a short walk to the rock holes. Litchfield is a great place!

Agreed, Buley's rockhole was great, great for kids and big kids, but, get there early, the advice in the park is if the car park is full, come back later on...we Stayed at the Caravan Park - Wangi Tourist Park, but, unless you like the sound of a gennie running 24/7 either get there early to get a spot away from it or forget it, it was an ok cp, quite bushy and clean amenities block, next door was a bush camping park, which looked ok, and the camp ground at Wangi Falls looked ok too, we didn't get to check out any of the others....Florence falls had a great plunge pool and I think was the only one open at the time we were there.

cheers

There is a fwd track that goes past the blyth homestead and you can access the waterfalls that start with t something or other very nice waterfalls with good swimming at plungepool although you have a walk to get to them and there is a shower/ablution block I camped there by my pat malone may last year. Depending on conditions this road leads to the daly river road

The track you are talking about is the Reynolds River Track and the waterfall is the Tjaynera falls (Sandy creek).
The cost for 2 adults per night is $13.20. A very nice set up.
We have just returned from 5 weeks tripping around Darwin, the N.P.s and the gulf, damn.

safe travels.
Jim-Bob.
