I believe that the GQ has 6 studs & the GU has 5 studs so,the wheels cannot be used. about the tyres I would enquire at a good tyre retailer.
Hope this helps.

John. I can't say that GQ rims will fit a GU, but a guy in my club has fitted after-market 15" rims and 33" tyres to his GU. He did this because he wanted a taller tyre than was able to be fitted to the 16" rim. The car now looks mean but his acceleration and braking have suffered. You will have to check the stud pattern and quantity, the offset and whether the rim will strike the brake caliper. At the end of the project, it's the overall diameter of the tyre/rim combination that matters. Hope this helps.

John,

Maybe I have an unsual GU, but me and a mate swap wheels all the time, he has a GQ, I have a GU. No problems.

I run 16's as standard, he runs 15's. Same stud pattern. You only need to ensure you get the right offset on the rims to ensure the tyres are inboard of the flares.

31's ??? mate go 35's.

Some clarification on a previous post also - 33's on a 15 are exactly the same as a 285/75/16. Simple metric imperial conversion will tell you that. No need to go down to 15's to get bigger tyres on. 315/75/16 - now your talking !

Good luck with the GU John ! - you will love it !

The GU and the GQ have 6 studs. Not only it can be interchanged between these two cars but it can be interchanged with ALL six studs wheels. Because 6 studs wheels are an International Standard. I am talking here about standard wheels which meet the International Standard and not wheels which do not respect the International standard.
I have swapped the GU wheels with RODEO etc..

Not entirely correct. Although the stud patterns are the same, not all six stud wheels are interchangeable due to the different
offset used by different manufacturers.
