When the map stops zooming beyond Level 9, you are
viewing the offline map source and the edition you have
selected (2021, 2023, 2024) does not have the HiRes map pack installed. Level 9 is the maximum
zoom available when only the LoRes map pack is installed.
If you haven’t got a 2024 license but have the 2021 mapset fully downloaded, check that you
haven’t also downloaded the 2024 LoRes pack. If so, you need to delete this. Go to Data Manager
and delete LoRes 2024. This can be done offline. This will ensure the app only shows the
downloaded 2021 map set.
If you do have a 2024 license then check that you have downloaded both the LoRes and the HiRes
map packs as a minimum. This will ensure you can zoom up to Level 18 when offline. This can only
be done when online.

Thank you.
Just to confirm, you purchase the app, then the license, then Hi res pack?

Gawd this site has just become an IT help desk - doesnt one exist somewhere and shouldn't the mods be moving IT related questions to that area.

There was once a time when Exploroz was about 4wding, camping, the great outdoors and every thing else related.

Just a help desk now what a waste.

A lot of people like to use a good map while 4WD ing Ozzie.

So next time someone posts about a battery you’re going to send them to Battery World.

So next time someone asks about 12v question you’re going to suggest an Auto sparky. A road question, ask the Shire.

Is replacing a water pump on a Troopy a vehicle question or a 4WD ing question?

Isn’t it great that forum communities can help each other.

I’m off 4WD ing now, with my ExplorOz Traveller maps.

G/Day TD,

The greatest problem on this site these days is someone asks a question and gets a hundred different answers! then it all turns into a Chit fight and the original poster is left bewildered and really learns nothing.

Cheers Axle.

Agreed Axle

About a lot of things.

It’s not unique to this forum only.

I guess the poster of the question needs to sort the Chit from the Chaff.

But isn't there a dedicated Help Desk elsewhere on the site for these IT type of issues.

For anything else this site has become a waste of space - and others have raised this in the recent past as well.

QLD.
All the replies are WHAT YOU WOULD GET around a campfire from a group. Maybe the original poster may become confused, but there is SUFFICIENT information presented, to be able to work out a course of action or make a wiser decision.
I agree with OzzieCruiser, someone is using the forum INSTEAD OF using the normal "IT HELP" which is provided by David & MIchelle. Anyone, and even people without "IT experience" would know this! But it continues!

Please! END OUR FRUSTRATION.

Yes there is Ozzie, also a Facebook page, not everyone is on Facebook. Not everyone is on the Forum.

If someone posts on Facebook or this forum the question & generally the answer reaches many. If they go straight to the help desk it reaches only them.

It’s been suggested many times if something / anything is posted that doesn’t interest you just ignore the post and move on. I know I do. Just because a post doesn’t interest you doesn’t necessarily mean no one is interested.

I guess if a question is raised either on here or Facebook and was not answered to their satisfaction, they would need to go to the help desk. Some choose to go direct.

If this or anything else is helpful to David & Michelle, I'm all for it.

Battery World offer free advice.

RMD.. Don’t read it, frustration ended. Pretty simple.

Yes of course "it continues" and for good reason.

There was a time when this site (forum and all) struggled to make an income for David & Michelle. Then David hit the Jackpot with the Traveller App. At last there was decent income.
Now Traveller is rather comprehensive and can cause some confusion for Dodos who have not realised there is a Help Desk or even that there is more to Exploroz than a forum. They want to be spoon fed so they just bleat their problems on the forum and well meaning members display their superior knowledge by responding rather than referring them to the Help Desk.

So why doesn't David & Michelle do something to direct these enquires to the Help Desk?
Simple, every time someone puts up a post asking for assistance Exploroz Traveller gets a mention on the site. Anyone with advertising knowhow will tell you that the first rule of advertising is BRAND EXPOSURE……. get the product name in front of the punter's eyes as often as you possibly can.
So don't expect any changes anytime soon.
What D&M may be overlooking is that there is a kicker…… each of these "mentions" is an appeal for assistance with a product that is not providing expected performance….. not a real good look for the product. It can appear to have flaws or at the very least be too complex for the average Dodo.
Cheers

I hope you’re out of hospital and feeling much better. My son in law had the same as you, he was crook, really crook over Christmas.

Your response is pretty much what I expected from yourself, critical of something which is of no interest to you. Well written as per normal.

Your last paragraph mentions the product is not providing expected performance. That is rather harsh. It is an excellent product. A few questions from Dodo’s does not indicate a poor performance. Hell said Dodo’s ask questions about various things.

Do agree there has been a few more posts than normal. ( M..k will settle down I’m sure). LOL.

Don’t forget, you are on the ExplorOz forum, which is on the ExplorOz website.ExplorOz Traveller probably goes a long way to funding both.

TrevorDavid, What on earth are you on about?

I did not say that "the product is not providing expected performance".
I said..."each of these "mentions" is an appeal for assistance with a product that is not providing expected performance."
Let me spell it out for you ...."An APPEAL for ASSISTANCE with a product that is not PROVIDING EXPECTED PERFORMANCE". Obviously the product is NOT PROVIDING expected performance TO THE USER or he would not be seeking help. So please stop trying to twist what I said into something else. It is not "harsh". It is a statement of fact.
I acknowledged that that Traveller was an excellent product.... I said that David had "hit the jackpot".

And what do you mean that my response is critical of something which is of no interest to me? How on earth can you know if the product has, or has not, interest for me?

And yes, "ExplorOz Traveller probably goes a long way to funding both." That is exactly the point I made at the beginning of my post and the whole crux of my post.

Do you actually read and absorb what I wrote or do you just seize upon a few words, take them right out of context, and construct some inappropriate argument aimed at misconstruing what I had posted. Your motives elude me!
Cheers

Hit a nerve have I?

I responded to your post in the way I interpreted it.

(each of these "mentions" is an appeal for assistance with a product that is not providing expected performance) Mmmmm, glad you clarified that .

The way you criticise posts relating to the product very much suggests (to me) your lack of interest. Never seen you criticise a 12v post. You have been diplomatic , but critical none the less.

Not wanting to get into a slanging match, I have a point of view, you have yours. Others have theirs.

Whilst this is an open forum people can and should be able to post whatever they wish.

TrevorDavid

You say ..."The way you criticise posts relating to the product very much suggests (to me) your lack of interest."
There you go again..... I don't believe that I have ever commented on the product itself.
I do own the product... I was an early uptaker. You really do talk absolute rubbish.
And yes, you hit many nerves.

I think people who post their Traveller app questions in the Forum or Facebook user group understand that their issue is likely user-related. They probably anticipate that another user might help resolve it, avoiding unnecessary load on the Help Desk for non-technical problems. This approach works well, but we want to avoid duplication.

If you see a post in the Forum and don’t know the answer, it’s better not to reply. I monitor all activity consistently and often hope someone will step in with an answer. Generally, the Facebook user group is more active and responsive, but good answers occasionally come through on the Forum as well.

We provide these communication channels for our customers and community, but it’s the users who shape the culture. The quality and tone of these spaces depend on how you choose to contribute—make it something valuable and welcoming!

Happy new year

Common folks, we all know it generally takes:

1 to ask the question
5 to provide correct answers
7 to argue against the correct answers
5 to post humorous answers
10 to post off-topic answers

And an infinite number of people to read all the above responses.
