Good evening. I am wondering if anybody has any experience or knowledge regarding the later model Tufftrax Hybrid Van?

I take it you are looking at second hand vans. Jürgen's went into liquidation in December 2019. If you are looking at one of them, it is up to you to do your own checks on the unit before committing yourself, just as you would for any other second hand van.

Thank you Peter for your prompt reply. Much appreciated.
I am aware of Jurgen closure. I have also looked at a few Tufftrax and they appear to be well put together and are heavy duty.
As part of due diligence I was just wondering if anybody has owned one or has knowledge of them that they could comment on any inherent weaknesses or strengths that you cannot see by just looking.
Thank you
D

Peter.
It would seem David DOES want to do some checks, and therefore asking WHAT CHECKS to perform on which systems. Just saying, "Do your own checks", may not ID any problem if the checker isn't armed with the vital areas to check, or knows what to look for.

RMD, any vans he would be looking at would be over 4 years old. It would be likely that most of the weaknesses in the vital areas would be starting to show up by now. They should be easily discovered.

All I can say is my sister and her husband had one from new, and did a lap, their first foray into c.vanning they loved it, seriously had no issues with van, but found the lifestyle was not for them, and went back to o/s traveling instead.

Thank you Andrew for taking the time to reply. Appreciated. A trip around Oz is not a small undertaking so to hear that the van went well is helpful for me when making a decision. The forum is good for those of us who are not well versed in the intricacies of van purchase so all suggestions or expereinces are appreciated.

Hi Richard,

Did your Sister and B-I-L, travel “Off Road”, and by that I mean serious roads like the GCR, GRR, or Peninsular Development/Bamaga road when doing their lap?
