Hi there
I’m wanting to upgrade the double DIN headunit so I can do the following:
1. Have a camera input
2. Run Apple CarPlay
3. Separate to CarPlay, run
ExplorOz Traveller.
4. Output quality audio
Does such a system exist?

Yes they exist. Any major brand double din headunit with the appropriate specs will fit with a fitting kit. We usually
check out whats on special that fits our customers needs

If you get mirroring you can. Mirrorlink is limited though but does share your phone screen to the headunit

If you don't buy yourself a headunit that built on a full Android operating system you'll still have to buy an Android AI Box Adapter so that you can. This is purely for point 3 - to run
ExplorOz Traveller.
If you read the
ExplorOz Traveller webpage we have a section on headunits that clarifies the common brands that our app users are buying.
Also suggest you read the section on using Apple CarPlay in conjunction with this info to confirm if you need point 2, or skip out that function.

I’ve now decided to run with a standard head unit and a separate iPad mini for the maps. This will give me far more versatility

This shows the Traveller on different types of headunits.
First 2 photos shows an aftermarket Android head unit (EC Offroad) fitted in a 200 series Landcruiser. Traveller installed direct via Google Playstore download.

The third photo shows the factory fitted CarPlay headunit in a 2023 Range Rover - there is a CarLinkKit TBox Android AI box adapter plugged into usb port of headunit.

It seems the Polaris GUMaxx head unit will do the trick.
Anyone had any experience with these?
