Hi,

I am currently using A9+ and connect to PC using Windows Phone link to view on larger screen.

The A9+ says it has GPS and not AGPS ? is it still worthwhile getting and using the Garmin Glow 2 Bluetooth device ??

Yes, even the basic ones have good GPS connectivity. In fact, GPS is not the right term that should be used any more. That;s just th US system.
GNSS describes all sat types including GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS

All wifi connected devices now have assisted GPS which is useful indoors or at start up but not of any use for mappiing.

You dont need a Glow 2, in fact it may not be as good.

All good

There is a good article here that explains what you are wishing to know - Assisted GNSS.

No, that article is from Wikipedia.

You may not be able to understand the whole of the above article, but if you read through it a coupe of times you will get a better understanding of the situation, particularly if you open each of the links as you go through it for the first time.

Anyone who used a gps maybe 10 or 15 years ago will be familiar with the long period required for the gps to become functional if it was off and was moved to a different region. I used to do site investigations anywhere from Cairns to the WA wheat belt and the initial wait always seemed interminable.
