There is a plane wreck in Roebuck Bay, only accessible at low tide, that was shot down by the Japanese. We walked out to it one time a few years ago to pay our respects to the Dutch Nationals it was carrying.
Can't remember how many died.

There are a whole heap of submerged aircraft in Roebuck Bay and most of them can be seen at very low tides. But you would need to walk a long way out .
