Hi there,
We have a 2023 Isuzu D-Max running the factory fitted head unit. I want to be able to run the ExploreOZ navigation system through our standard head unit. The unit comes standard with wireless Apple carplay.
I am very happy with the standard head unit and don't want to replace it with an aftermarket unit.
I recently purchased a Carlinkit (photos attached of the one recommended by the company).
CCPA CarLinkit
CCPA Carliinkit (2)
Unfortuately, I have been unable to get it to connect.
Have other members been having simiar issues?
I noticed that there is a blog article on this site. The pics are of a different model of the Carlinkit. The company recommended the one that I have attached the photo of becuase our model Isuzu has wireless Apple Carplay. I'm not sure this makes a difference?
I would really appreciate your input as to what the issues might be and how to resolve it.
Thanks

Hi Red Rocket,
You need to log a request on the Help Desk for assistance with technical support for this sort of thing. David and Michelle have experience with connecting Car Link kits, and have recommended a particular model as being compatible with the
Exploroz Traveller platform.
Regards, Macca.

I purchased the CarLinKit through the website link from David & Michelle.
I have it running successfully on my new 300 series. Installed about 2 weeks ago. The following experiences I had might help you?
* Despite multiple attempts I have given up on trying to access the internet using the SIM card in its..not worth wasting your time in the short term!
* I used a USB dongle plugged in to the car for the wifi, (placed the SIM in that instead)
* You could also use house wifi for now and worry about the internet when away from
home later by using the dongle idea
* The unit is by default set to apple car play....short press the little reset pin to change to Android
* Your vehicle head unit should recognise the carlinkit providing you have used the correct USB inlet on the vehicle (some are a powered source only and in one in particular will be the INPUT USB into the head unit
* Don't use the vehicle head unit display of apple car play/ Android Auto. You must wait for the carlinkit to be recognised and connect and then use its carplay/Android link.
You should now have on your head unit the Apple car play or Android Auto displaying (subject to what OS system you chose)
* Open that OS and then access the app store to log in and then download Traveller and associated data/ maps etc.
* Once you have achieved successful connection there are a number of screen display options to suit the individual..but first things first
Hopefully that's some help, feel free to respond, there will be others perhaps more knowledgeable than me but the above might help if you haven't got that far

Hi, it appears you only have a Wireless adapter not an AI Box adapter - CarLinkKit is just a brand of many devices that do different things. Please refer to the exact link we provide as the recommended device to ensure you can use apps through your headunit. See
Traveller Documentation. Open the link then click the tab that covers using Traveller on CarPlay headunits.

Have a 2023 Mazda BT50, purchased the Carlinkit Tbox Ambient through the ExplorOz link, connected & all works perfectly.
For me the process was to have the Tbox plugged into the USB port BEFORE turning on the accessory switch, wait a bit, then insert the pin into the rear of the unit to adapt it to Android ( I have an Android phone). Ensure you have Bluetooth & WiFi turned on.
The Tbox will then assess the head unit screen size & do it's thing. Find your WiFi, connect, download ExplorOz app & then all the maps.
I also downloaded my OBD2 car scanner to the Tbox, exactly what I've been searching for.
Thanks to David & Michelle.

Hi everyone.
A big thanks to everyone for your input.
Based on your input and pics, it appeared that the product we purchased (on Carlinkit's recommendation) was the wrong product.
David and Michelle have confirmed that I purchased the wireless adaptor, not the AI Box adaptor.
I am now sorting out the correct product and will post the end result on FB, which based on everyone's input, I am sure will be a positive post :)
Thanks again for all your input, it has been greatly appreciated.
