I purchased the Tbox AI Carlink device through Exploreoz link a few months ago.

Now that our new vehicle has arrived it's time to get my head around how to set it up and I am a little fuzzy on some details :)

It has the SIM card in it now as well as a 512GB SD card.

It is also the 8GB of RAM + 128Gb ROM to be connected to a Landcruiser 300 series

My understanding is that I connect it to the USB on the head unit but where to from there ?

Is it that straight forward or to use the head unit or do I go to Android auto and it finds the AI box

I'm a little confused on the set-up process.

If some kind soul has been down that path if they could indicate a step-by-step process from start to allow me to get started without messing it up it would be appreciated.

bungarra.
Don't the items you have purchased provide setup instructions and connectivity diagrams to achieve a sound result? If they don't, it is very remiss of the suppliers.

Have a look on YouTube, there are videos there. Often a good way to get info.

You plug the box into the USB data port for the radio .

Sorry all I did was plug it in an let it start up and worked it out just like you are setting up a new computer. I tried to get it to work with a data sim card and gave up with trying to get that to work and now just hot spot it to my phone to use any of the apps that I have on it .

I have set one up in my Isuzu - Firstly, excuse my ignorance, but I assume the 300 series has wired carplay. If it does it is just a matter of plugging the unit into the USB connected to the head unit. (Not a charging only port). Turn on ignition and it should work. It will connect, then turn off and then turn on to establish display size. Once you get it working it it is like your phone on your head unit. If it doesn't work, there are 2 protentional fixes. Change the connection mode to Android, via button on front, or as I had to do on the Isuzu, purchase a an auxiliary power supply. The Isuzu port does not provide enough power on it own to power the unit. My other advice would be, if you can, connect to your home wifi when downloading the maps etc. It will be quicker and won't blow your data allowance. Good Luck
