You must be the only one! If that is your name, we have no proof, you could be using an ALIAS for all we know. Sounds fishy to me!
Perhaps you should have JOHNO. Is
John Baas properly constructed?

I use my "proper" name.
Maybe I should use another.
I'm now feeling FOMO anxiety.
I have previously been called Waldo , Willy, Billy and a hell of a lot more. Never call me late for lunch.
My grandchildren call me Willpa.

More folk know me as Cuppa than those who use my christian name , both on & off line. I answer just as readily to either.

Hi
John Baas,
I’m sure you know my full name and it is no secret but it is just simpler to use a single word as an avatar and it is also my email identity.
However, it seems there are so many “
John’s” that you are somewhat compelled to add further identity.
Signed….. Allan Bull.

Hello Allan Bwhatever!
That bloke must have had two personalities and when he was one, he talked to the other, and vice versa. Probably they never met! Sharing idea is always encouraged. If spelling was the issue, then they had common ground,

Hi
John
Yes I use my real name and only have this one account, but know of members that use multiple names and accounts so it they reply to
forum posts and it is controversial they keep in the clear with their real account, which to me is a gutless was of hiding and keeping their main account looking good

Hi Stephen, I once contributed to an industry
forum where the administrator posted under his own name. The thing was though that he also posted under another name and even conducted discussions between the two identities. However the ruse became obvious because he was not good at spelling and made the same errors under both names!
But, after all, what’s in a name?

Hi
John, I've been on this site and a member for must be 20 years. I only have one account and my mother and father called me Michael so I have been using that name since I can remember. The only thing is I moved from Moss Vale NSW 15 years ago but we have recently sold our small acreage in Dubbo and moving back to the Southern Highlands next week and we may just end up in Mossy once again. So a few of us use our names, not all use our Surname but happy to provide it if anyone is vaguely interested. Regards Michael, Mike, Mick, Hey you.......Over here..

I was nicknamed Big Mac back in primary school around 1960. Nothing to do with McDonalds, as they weren’t around for another 15 years or so. I was given this nickname after a cartoon character on television. He was a small boy with a very loud voice which described me pretty
well at that age. In high School it was shortened to Macca, and has been ever since, even at the age of 72.
My full name, for those that really want to know, is Ian James McLaren.
Macca.

John, getting back to your heading "Online Pseudonyms; mostly poorly constructed" Most of the replies to your remarks are from those who have identified themselves online - or have they really been honest with their names. Has Genny really revealed herself? Her comments leave things open to whether she really has.
I think that the vast majority online are concerned with being tracked. That is why they use their pseudonyms. You will have to accept that if you wish to be one of our members.
As for them being poorly constructed. Just because you do not understand them does not render them poorly constructed. I consider the ones that don't make the owners easily tracked to be very
well constructed.

Small confession time. Genny isn't a poorly constructed version of Jenny ....
My nickname has been General for many years, which one particular miscreant in particular contracted to Genny.
Has Genny really revealed herself? Those that know me, will know me, and like myself will be chuckling over "herself"!

OK seriously, you might have worked out that I'm a bit of a smart arse and it tends to ruffle a few feathers from time to time so prefer to remain anonymous on some forums.
But there is no anonymity past this level of the

Hi
John, I use Broodie H3, out of fond memories as my father gave me that nick name when I was just a small boy living on a poultry
farm, He later changed that to THE captain when I joined The RAN. The H3 is for my surname and respect for my two brothers one still living and one has passed over, my four sisters dont get a mention in my on line account. My name is Bruce so the Broodie is appropriate. How I got the name is another long story.

Coded names (I can't spell pseudonyms) are all very
well but as I have often said, this
forum is very much like a campfire chat and even if one uses a pseu-thingy for a registration identity it would be nice if they were to sign off with a real name like
John or Roger or even Allan so we can reply with " Yes
John, I agree with you etc." Just like "Nomadic Navara" who signs as "Peter".
You can use any really great name you like..... it doesn't have to be the one your parents chose.
I rather fancied "Maximus" but it really doesn't go with my surname.
I always feel awkward saying "Hi, 1234etc"

G'day to all and this is my first appearance on here:
My member name is BlackDuck408: Was an old callsign referring to my Western Australian
heritage (Black Swan/Black Duck) and part of my old serial number. I value my privacy in an age where there seems to be less and less of it, hence prefer to keep comms/media at a manageable distance.

Cheers for the welcome Allan,
Not the RAAF but I'll leave it there. I have to say ExplorOz has been an amazing navigation tool particularly out in the Goldfields. I come from an era of maps and compasses with GPS systems only just in infancy stage and not totally reliable. Detail and accuracy of the app is amazing, and very user friendly for someone who has a challenging relationship with tech. Credit to David & Michelle, who are also quick to respond to queries which is a refreshing change.
Happy trekking.

Ahh, it's just that your signature "Per Ardua Ad Astra" is the motto of the Commonwealth Air Forces, not just the RAAF.
Incidentally, "ExplorOz" is not a navigation tool. It is a multi-faceted website for the 4WD fraternity although it does seem to be evolving somewhat due to its "Exploroz Traveller" App.
