Looking to travel along this (WA) road towing a boat trailer (7m). From what I can find it appears to be a mix of sealed/unsealed, though one report suggests it is fine for 2wd. Can anyone give any further detail as to if it would be suitable for 4wd towing boat & trailer? Obviously depending upon unsealed condition at the time...

Cheers,
Mark

For some reason I didn't search this site! Apparently IS sealed all the way. Many thanks, other sources suggested not.

We drove that road last month in a motorhome (converted school bus), and it's all sealed. I think the road was good (don't remember it being bad anyway), but there was a lot of wide load trucks on the road, mostly carrying mining equipment.

The museum at the Mt Magnet visitor centre is well worth a look - we didn't have time to give it justice, but we were very impressed.

Leinster was an interesting place - it's a company (BHP?) owned town so quite different to normal country towns.

If you look at our map online (EOTopo 2024 edition) shows all sealed.

And it was 15 to 20 years or so ago when I first travelled it. If you wish to check one of those main roads, go to Google Maps, then use the street view to look up and down the road.

Should have thought of the EO maps first. When first looking at the road, the first two websites suggested it was partially sealed. Hence I came here for better information.

And, no, Peter, not something I'd recommend on a potentially partially sealed road. You'd be looking at section after section before you were certain (yes, I have done that myself!).

Sealed all the way. We were out there in June. Lots of quads.
