I did exchange messages with Nick. I suspect he simply accepted the "traditional" consensus view.
The view from the Track Care people, that we acted upon, was (in our opinions) more up-to-date.

Since the signs were erected some years ago, the property has been sold and is now on the market again, with a manager currently running the place. One of the advertised "potentials" for the property in the 'for sale' blurb is its tourism potential. If that is to be realised, perhaps it is better that they do not antagonise any more Canning travelers than necessary????

"No access".
What does that mean?
No access to the homestead? No access to the CSR?
The vast majority of traffic on the CSR goes through Cunya Station on a daily basis.
We have left massages to no avail. Just trying to do the right thing.

What have you found out Peter, I guess the problem has been solved now, like to know what the outcome is, for future ref.

We have had no communication with either station yet.
We are still just at Well 6 now and will probably go south to Windich Springs which is still outside Cunya Station, even if we then return to Well 5 and exit via Granite Peak. There is still a lot of water on the track and we don't want to be accused of doing damage.
Still plenty of time for us to change our minds though.

For as long as I have been reading about the Canning Stock Route, nigh on 30 years, it’s been my belief that trailers and anything larger than a Toyota troopie were not allowed to pass through Cunyu.
The Hema notes feature a sign saying as much.

It’s also my belief, not having been there, that it is very flood prone country.

It actually says nothing about "large" vehicles, it says "No..... wide track vehicles.....".
What does that mean? MAN?, Unimog?
Here are a few "Troopy" type track widths to compare.....

Canter - super singles (measured) 1710mm
Ford Ranger 1710mm
Unimog U500 1920mm (saw one the other day).

The ban on trailers through Cunyu Station was lifted some years back, when the station changed hands. We did the CSR in 2019, and the ban had been lifted some years prior to that.

A fortuitous outcome - enjoy.

We lost count, but there were about 25 vehicles atWell 6 last night, so we went for a 4km walk before lining up to get water at 0930.
By that time there was not a single vehicle left in the camp ground except us. The water though had been stirred up some, so we only took on about half of what we could and are now camped up at Windich Springs, 50km drive away, after having topped up the water at Well 5, where it was a bit more work as the water was about 25m from the top.
