Yesterday I saw a FB video of some folk crossing at Drumduff (Hughes?) a Landcruiser & Quantum van, which I believe to have been taken in the past couple of days.https://www.facebook.com/groups/1478786278945854. Not deep.

Used the Gamboola crossing, in 2021. Was fine, no water over road, but that was in August. The ride up to the Dixie road was great, roads were in excellent condition. Dixie rd was a freeway! However this was during covid restrictions, so not much traffic. Coming from Normanton you would be quicker doing the crossing at Dunbar, then straight up the Dixie Rd. . The road we should have taken is not a gazetted road and the GPS did not identify it. We did many km that were unnecessary and tested our fuel range even further. poppy playtime chapter 3. When we did it Hughes Crossing never came up in discussions with the Shire as a possible bypass. The link that I gave you for the Shire has a road report in there somewhere.

We completed the trip from Musgrave Station to Normington not as touristy as driving to Cape York. Pormpuraaw to Kowanyama is still closed.
