Geographical Centre of Simpson Desert

The Geographical Centre of the Simpson Desert was dertermined by the "centre of gravity" method by Warren Bonython and Dennis Bartell.

Word from CLC is that Colsons north of Madigans is closed to traffic. Meaning no access to Geo Centre? Any one else has this info?

The Colson track north of the Madigan line has been closed for years. You would not access the Geo Centre from there anyhow.

The northern section has been closed for over 20 plus years.

You get to the Geo Centre not far into the Northern Territory off the Colson Track.

You need accurate off road mapping and GPS Waypoints.

You will basicly head east, then north, then west to get to the Centre and the tower there.
