Many roads in that area are still closed because of flooding.

You will have to scroll up to see the road conditions for that area.

Road in Mitchell River Dunbar region.

I also plan on using this crossing and want to know the answer. NO INFO on QLD roads website.

The Dunbar crossing`will be uncrossable at present, the BDR on it's southern side is still flooded & is closed, & the Koolatah/Dixie rd to it's north is still flooded & closed so you cannot even get to the crossing.

Once there is access to the crossing & the river level low enough there will undoubtably be a lot of sand to be removed to get down to the rubber matting, assuming it remained in situ. That is assuming that the crossing was repaired & reopened last year which I am uncertain about.

See 'My Profile' (below) for link to our Aussie travel blog, now in it's 6th year.

Carpentaria Shire have stated that the crossing wasn't repaired last year and has been closed since it was washed away in December 2022.
