Hi all. Newbie question about trip planning using the EO Traveller app.
I am trying to plan out a trip through the Channel Country.
I have figured out how to build a trek and refine the route.
My question is: how reliable is the average speed data and hence the elapsed time estimates?
Some of the speeds seem a bit conservative to me, but not knowing the specific roads I have no basis to judge.
Has the speed data been sourced from actual vehicle tracking, or is it "theoretical"?

Hi Damon
Have you looked at the
Treks on this site ?
Click on Destinations, then
Treks, then the map of Australia with
treks shown, then zoom in to one you think may help , eg
Longreach to Innamincka , and click on that route when the cursor changes from a hand to pointing , then look down the information for that trek.
You may find what you are looking for. Little bit fiddly getting the "cursor" exactly on the shown trek, but it works.
Not sure if this is the sort of info you are looking for, so good luck.
Cheers
Jim

Hi Damon, when you are creating the routing of each segment it will display the Avg speed being used for the routing of that segment before you press Accept. You can infact overwrite/adjust this avg speed before pressing accept. The avg speed given is based on the actual roads/tracks being used in your route and their known speed limits as stored in the database.
Hope that helps.
Michelle
