Short answer is YES, but there is some 'learning' to do to interpret the results.
4 of us spent a week walking from the track to about 50 'possible' sites up to 1km (each way) through the scrub and across the dunes. NONE of those possible sites were actual nests, which was a bit disheartening, but subsequent efforts by others proved more successful as a result of what we learned.
This was typical of the false alarms. A mound of sand built up around a shrub.

Googs
We also reported on tracks we saw. One of our members can tell the difference between cats, foxes, & dingoes. Some are obvious.

Googs
Malley Fowl tracks.

Googs
And an empty Malley Fowl nest.

Googs
There are worse things to do than to spend a week walking through that country away from where the tourists venture. :)
There are also vegetation photo points all through there that another group was doing. We try to repeat the photos about once every 4 years, so will be back to Googs next year to repeat that.
Cheers,
Peter
