ExplorOz - David & Michelle
Looking for
feedback from existing Members... relating to the annual Member sticker. Do you like receiving an annual sticker? Do you display your sticker on your vehicles? Do you think it is worthwhile to you (pride/sense of belonging/conversation starter/attract other members for a chat). Have your say here. The question is: should we continue annual Member stickers in 2023? The question stems from a review of costs so we need to justify its worth to you. Yes/No. Give reasons if you wish.
PS: We don't envisage any change to Lifetime Members who receive a parcel containing a Polo Shirt, Cap, Stubby Holder and 2 stickers (Lifetime Sticker and a windscreen sticker).

Hi David and Michelle,
I think having a Member sticker on the vehicle is good as it identifies you to other members.
I have met several other EO members through my sticker.
However, I see no need for annual
membership currency stickers. Save your costs.

Like many other members who have commented so far, I never put stickers of any kind on my vehicle, so I would not miss them. However, in fairness to those who do use them, I favour the "opt in" suggestion.
Roger.

Promotion of the business and a sense of community an important thing. Not sure stickers help there.
Other merch, especially caps, we’ve found really do. Branded mugs prompt discussion also around the maps of a morning!

Many years ago when I was running a small business and was always looking for good advertising opportunities I found stickers and pins were very useful tool of advertising and very popular for customers to pick up off the counter
Etc

I always display an ExplorOz sticker on my vehicle, but don't believe a sticker with year identification is necessary. A sticker should have an indefinite "period of currency" subject to weather exposure.
A sticker displaying ExplorOz association is all that should be required and whether members are current, or otherwise, in a particular year is irreverent to the promotion and recognition of ExplorOz "community".
Drop the member/year identification to save money.

The only sticker I have on the vehicle rear window is the Royal Flying Doctor and their contact number.
Have always had the member ExplorOz sticker on the wheel cover on the rear of the van.
I would be happy to continue to receive the sticker but if costs come into it I am happy either way.
Regards
Rowdy

I always have the sticker on my 4WD.
For ages I've had all the mainstream navigation apps on my phone/tablet, and have always admitted to preferring ExplorOz over the rest.
The sticker has helped to start that conversation when others ask what this "ExplorOz" is all about.
Being WA based has always been a good conversation starter as
well.
But.. really.. I'd be happy to have just one non-date-satmped sticker that can just stay on my truck. It would achieve the same result.
Maybe have the option to request a replacement at renewal time.

No for me thank you.
I did apply one a dozen years ago to our CT but it started to fray and became "ugly", never bothered since
Suggest you make it part of a new members kit but optional on people renewing
membership, so you hopefully save some money.
Postage probably costs you more than the sticker, but that's still 5% or so of rejoining.
Mark
